Our endodontist, Dr. Ali Sarraf, earned his D.M.D degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Following graduation, he worked as a general dentist for two years prior to completing his residency in Endodontics at Temple University School of Dentistry.

Eagle Endodontics offers the following endodontic services in Lexington and Belmont, MA:

Root Canal Treatment – When the pulp at the center of a tooth is damaged or infected, a root canal is needed. Although there are many misconceptions about root canals, the truth is that they are not painful—in fact, they are often used to relieve pain.

Endodontic Retreatment – There are times when a tooth that has had root canal treatment doesn’t heal properly or becomes reinfected. In these cases, endodontic retreatment is needed. 

Endodontic Surgery – There are several surgical procedures that endodontists perform to save teeth, with the most common being an apicoectomy, which removes infected or inflamed tissue at the tip of a tooth’s root.

Dental Trauma – When a tooth is badly damaged due to dental trauma, it can compromise the pulp or leave it vulnerable to infection. Endodontists can save a damaged tooth from needing to be extracted.

Internal Bleaching – The conventional teeth whitening treatments provided by dentists address stains on the tooth enamel, but there are some types of discoloration that originate inside of a tooth. Internal bleaching is performed by an endodontist to whiten teeth from the inside.

Cracked Teeth – When a tooth is cracked, the pulp can become inflamed and painful. Endodontists specialize in diagnosing and saving cracked teeth.

Pulpotomy – A pulpotomy is a procedure typically performed on an emergency basis that removes the superficial pulp to relieve pain until a complete root canal can be scheduled.

Pulpectomy – It is very similar to pulptomy.  This procedure typically performed on an emergency basis that removes most of the pulp tissue to relieve pain until a complete root canal can be scheduled 

Sedation Endodontics – To ensure that you’re comfortable during your procedure, we offer a safe, mild form of sedation called nitrous oxide to help you relax.

Ali Sarraf, DMD – Dr. Ali Sarraf graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Health Science in Radiology before earning his DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduating, Dr. Sarraf worked as a general dentist, then went on to complete a residency in Endodontics at Temple University School of Dentistry. In addition to providing exceptional care to his patients at Eagle Endodontics, Dr. Sarraf teaches the next generation of endodontists at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
